Near Dubrovnik

Up the river from Dubrovnik and right across from the marina, was the ideal setting that depicts what much of the coast of Croatia is like. Mountains come right down to the sea with a sprinkling of villages tucked in between.

Exploring Hagar Qim

The name of Hagar Qim means standing stones. The ruins of these Copper age temples stand on a rocky plateau on the west coast of Malta, overlooking the sea, and facing the islet of Filfla seen over Aida's shoulder abut 4.8 kilometers away. The weather was beautiful.

Lady A Crew visits a Ghost Town

While in Reggio Calabria we took a trip with Aida's Mother and Grandmother to the Pentedattilo il luogo dei cique parchi (the sight of the five parks). The village of Pentedattilo (from the Greek pente - dactylos=five fingers). Origins of the village are uncertain but it is known that in 1283 it belonged to the Archimandrite of the church of SS Salvatore di Messina and was sold to the nobleman Monello Simone in 1589. Popular legend tells of the dark tragedy of murder thus the legend of ghosts. All in all a great day trip from Reggio.

Trip to Barga, Italy

Just before the New Year we enjoyed a day trip with friends to a beautiful little town north of Viareggio in the mountains called Barga. We walked up to the church and then had a wonderful lunch at a trattoria.
